How the Program Works

  • Step 1: Determine Medicaid Eligibility

Review KanCare financial guidelines and begin the Medicaid application. Caretech helps ensure paperwork is complete and eligibility steps are clearly understood.

  • Step 2: Complete a Functional Assessment

A state assessor evaluates daily living needs and determines the level of care required for HCBS services, guiding approval for the most appropriate support program.

  • Step 3: Select an HCBS Program

Based on assessment results and disability-related needs, the individual is matched with the Kansas HCBS waiver program that best supports long-term goals and stability.

  • Step 4: Choose a Service Provider

Select Caretech as your in-home support provider. Our team coordinates services, communicates with case managers, and prepares you for the start of care.

  • Step 5: Develop a Person-Centered Support Plan

Caretech collaborates with the individual and their care team to design a customized support plan that reflects their goals, abilities, preferences, and daily routines.

  • Step 6: Begin In-Home Services

Once authorization is in place, Caretech begins providing in-home support focused on daily living assistance, safety, independence, and overall well-being.
